Following 15 years as fashion and celebrity stylist Zoe Lem has created a collection of dresses celebrating the classic vintage styles from the 1920s to the 1960s along with the ideal body shapes for each era.
Zoe has worked in the vintage scene for many years but has noticed that though it has now become much more accessible and covered by mainstream media very few girls actually understand what the defining silhouettes and shapes are from each of the eras not least which would best suit their shape.
Starting with a vintage body shape consultation Zoe will identify the bride’s body shape (Hour glass, Pear Shaped or Straight up and Down) then look at the most flattering shape/silhouette to maximise the bride’s body shape, height and colouring.
“Many
brides come with a decade that they love and are desperate to recreate’
says Zoe ‘but unfortunately it doesn’t always love them, so it is best
to find the perfect shape from whichever era and then adapt it, style it
to suit the bride style, taste and wedding ideas.”
She added “most women’s smallest bit is underneath the waist or high waisted so that is often the most flattering place to nip in a dress. The 40’s can be a really flattering era as you have the longer floaty shapes of the 30’s but higher waisted than the 50’s.”
